Intern Q&A Time

Andres

Andres Baca – Business Consultant Intern

Meet Andres, our latest Business Consultant Intern, originally from Mexico. Andres is currently based in Amsterdam; join us as we get to know him.

What are you currently studying at university?

I’m currently studying for a Master’s in Drug Discovery and Safety at Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam.

What drew you towards working with Seuss+?

Seuss+ CEO Kieran Canisius gave a lecture in one of my classes. When I discovered the work that Seuss+ was doing, it immediately caught my attention.

Later, In the Demonstrator Lab at the VU, I met Dr. Linda van de Burgwal, who thought I’d be a good fit for an internship at Seuss+ and recommended me.

What stood out for you during the hiring process?

I was impressed by the internship recruitment process; I found the Predictive Index test interesting.

What do you hope to achieve with your internship?

Develop the topic selected for the internship (building trust with clients to improve risk assessment) and understand what it really means to be a consultant in the pharmaceutical industry.

Fun fact about yourself.

When I was a child, I agreed to learn numbers since there were ten of them (1-10), but the letters were 26, so that was too much of a challenge, and I refused.

Lennart

Lennart Abbink- Business Consultant Intern

Originally from Hoorn, The Netherlands, Lennart is currently based in Amsterdam.

What are you currently studying?

I’m currently studying the Master Management, Policy Analysis, and entrepreneurship in health and life sciences (MPA) at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

What drew you towards working with Seuss+?

I wanted to get into consulting while still having a meaningful impact on the life science world. Seuss+ is an ambitious company doing just that.

I heard about the internship through my university and couldn’t wait to apply.

What stood out for you during the hiring process?

The recruitment process leans on data more heavily than other large consulting companies, and I really enjoyed the process.

What do you hope to achieve with your internship?

Finishing my thesis and, with that, my master while also improving my analytical skills as a consultant.

Fun fact about yourself

I love working out for my mental health; the body is just an added bonus.

  Sammy

Sammy Ngoc Do – Marketing and Communications Intern

Originally from Hochiminh city, Vietnam, Sammy is currently based in Drenthe, Netherlands.

What are you studying?

I am in the fourth year of my study in Marketing Management at NHL Stenden at the University of Applied Science.

What drew you towards working with Seuss+?

What drew me the most towards working with Seuss+ is, firstly, that it’s a woman-led company. Besides that, Seuss+’s diverse culture makes me very welcome. I am also really inspired by what Seuss+ is striving towards in the life science industry.

What stood out for you during the hiring process?

After meeting with Susan and Loreley about the position during the recruitment process, I was sent a behavioral assessment. The result surprised me because I could see myself on paper, which was so precise! I also really enjoyed the second meeting with the whole Marketing team. It was fascinating and lovely getting to know everyone.

What do you hope to achieve with your internship?

I want to learn more about Marketing activities while improving my interpersonal skills in a professional environment. Furthermore, I want to learn to use the SCRUM methodology to organize different projects and tasks to receive the expected result. Additionally, I would like to complete my project and see the project to be implemented successfully at Seuss+.

Fun fact about yourself.

A fun fact about me is that whenever I stress out, I clean and cook for peace of mind. So, if you live with or are close to me, you will benefit from a clean space or something nice to eat.

So, there we have it; welcome to the Seuss+ family, everyone. Curious about the rest of our team? Meet them here.
