Rachel Topper has joined Seuss+ as a Project Assistant, bringing experience in Phase I clinical research, healthcare operations, project coordination, and documentation and compliance. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, and now based in The Hague, Rachel previously worked as a clinical research nurse coordinating Phase I clinical trials for hematology patients.
That experience gave Rachel a close view of what it takes to keep clinical research moving. Accurate documentation, careful coordination, changing priorities, and close teamwork were all part of her day-to-day work. Clinical research is also an area she cares deeply about.
Joining Seuss+ means Rachel can stay connected to the industry she knows while seeing it from a different perspective. As a Project Assistant, she’ll use her experience in project coordination, clinical research operations, and documentation and compliance to support project teams and contribute to client work across Seuss+.

From clinical research nursing to project coordination
Before joining Seuss+, Rachel worked directly with hematology patients as a clinical research nurse, coordinating Phase I clinical trials.It was a role that called for accuracy, organization, and the ability to respond quickly when priorities changed. Clinical trials involve many details at once, and Rachel found that this kind of environment suited the way she works.
“I excel when my work requires attention to detail. From my nursing background, I also do well working in fast-paced environments with a lot of moving parts.”
That experience now comes with her into project coordination.Rachel is used to keeping track of information, staying organized, and working closely with others when several things are happening at once. She also understands clinical research from the site and patient side, which gives her useful context as she starts learning more about project and client work at Seuss+.The Project Assistant role felt like a natural next step because it keeps her within clinical research while giving her a chance to understand another part of the industry.
“This role offered a different perspective within the same industry. I enjoy work with a lot of variety and working closely with others, both aspects of the Project Assistant role.”
That variety matters to her. Rachel likes work where no two days feel exactly the same and where being part of a team is central to getting things done.
Building experience in client-focused project work
One of the biggest changes for Rachel is moving into more client-focused work.
Her previous role centered on clinical trials within a healthcare setting. At Seuss+, she’ll now be able to see how client projects develop from beginning to end and understand how different pieces of work come together along the way.
That is what she is most excited to get involved in.
“I’m most excited to see how we work with clients from start to end, and how I support these processes. This type of client-focused work is new to me, so I’m excited to develop skills pertaining to this, such as presentation skills.”
For Rachel, the move is a chance to bring useful experience with her while building confidence in areas that are newer. She already knows the demands of clinical research operations and careful documentation. Now she’ll be learning more about client communication, project support, and how Seuss+ teams work across different assignments.
It’s a mix that suits someone who enjoys variety and working closely with other people.
Detail matters
Attention to detail has been a constant in Rachel’s work. Clinical research nursing leaves little room for losing track of information. Documentation needs to be accurate, actions need follow-up, and priorities can change quickly. Rachel is comfortable working that way.
She also knows that being organized doesn’t mean working in isolation. Much of her previous role involved coordinating with others, sharing information clearly, and making sure the right details were available at the right time.
That experience will be useful as she settles into Seuss+ and begins supporting different project teams.
From Atlanta to The Hague
Rachel’s move into a new role comes after a few other big changes.
She is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, and now lives in The Hague in the Netherlands.
Before starting at Seuss+, Rachel and her partner, Tiago, spent six months traveling together. Their trip took them through Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
Six months on the road gave them plenty of new places to experience before returning to the Netherlands and settling back into everyday life.
That willingness to try something new carries into Rachel’s career too. She knows clinical research well from her nursing background, and she is now choosing to see the industry from another angle.
There is a lot she already understands, and plenty she is still curious about.
That balance is part of what drew her to the Project Assistant role in the first place.

Rachel joins Seuss+ with practical clinical research experience and a clear sense of the kind of work she enjoys: detailed, varied, and collaborative.
Her background in Phase I hematology trials has given her experience in clinical research operations, documentation, coordination, and working in busy environments where priorities can shift.
Now, she is looking forward to seeing how Seuss+ works with clients from the start of a project through to the end, while building new skills in client-focused work and presentations.
For Rachel, it is a chance to stay close to an industry she cares about while learning a different side of it.
