Introducing Neele, our latest marketing intern, discover more about Neele and how she’s adjusting and embracing new ways of working, virtually and with the Scrum methodology.
Tell us a little about yourself, Neele! Where are you from, and tell us about your studies?
My name is Neele. I am a 23-year-old International Business and Management student majoring in Management and Entrepreneurship.
However, I realized that I have been missing the more creative part of my life, which is why I applied for a marketing internship at Seuss+.
I grew up in Worpswede, a small village in the north of Germany, and over the years developed a deep love for different cultures and learning new languages, which is why I have chosen to study abroad multiple times, and this is also how I ended up here in the Netherlands.
Moreover, I am an INFJ. This means that I am an introverted people person, wanting to support others and, by doing so, create meaningful relationships.
How was your first week at Seuss+? What were your impressions of being virtually onboarded and meeting the team? Do you feel prepared for your role? What was it like meeting the team?
Let’s start at the very beginning. Meeting the team happened in the most caring way I could have imagined, with a team lunch. Over the last few days, I have felt nothing but support and incredible team spirit, which made me feel very secure and included in every way.
The morning meetings and all the other meetings gave me a good impression of how Seuss+ works; I started to understand the processes, the marketing team operates using Scrum methodology, meaning we work on multiple projects in 2-week sprints, everything is meticulously organized and for me it is a new and exciting way of working.
I feel prepared for what is to come, but I also know that every team member would be more than willing to support me if I were to experience troubles. Thank you very much for the way you designed this first week and for inviting us with open arms.
What are you excited to learn? What would you like to achieve during your internship?
I am excited to learn all about building a brand from scratch. The devil lies in the details: I was always fascinated by how minor elements or processes influence the whole picture you form of something or someone.
This is why I am looking forward to learning about the importance of color schemes. They influence the customer or the need for consistency between brands and sub-brands even though they must be able to portray the full picture independently and so many other things.
I am also curious about how marketing experts would revamp and launch their brand successfully.
During my internship, I want to support Seuss+ to the best of my abilities, e.g., by creating a market and customer analysis that will help Suess+ successfully launch Seuss Marketing. My intern project will be making a market positioning strategy over the next five months.
Tell us what you like to do in your free time or any fun facts about yourself you’d like to share.
When I was 7, I started horse riding, and I haven’t stopped ever since. At 15, I scraped together all my savings and bought Havanna, my mare (sometimes also a nightmare). Since then, she has been moving with me to wherever it took me, even to the Netherlands.
I also love to play volleyball whenever I get a chance to. As soon as the lockdown eases up again, I will find myself a new team in my neighborhood.
A fun fact about myself is that I can read people. Sometimes I ask people what they wanted to say and puzzling them about how I could possibly know that they wanted to say something without looking at them or having a conversation. My reply would be, “Well, your breathing changed.”
I really love sleep as well – my boyfriend calls me the sloth queen!
I also have a strange life goal – I want to own a cow! This might seem weird, but cows are my happy animals. I think there’s nothing sweeter than spending 5 minutes with a calf to turn a bad day into a good one!
We wish you every success in your internship with Seuss+ Neele, and thank you for sharing your story!
